The jailed leader of the Anglophone conflict in Cameroon’s English-speaking regions has sent words to his people as the world celebrates the feast of nativity.
From his prison cell in Kondengui, Sisiku Ayuktabe said:
“In this time of faith and family, may the true meaning of Christmas fill you with joy, may the spirit of the holidays bring you closer to those you hold so dear. May this Christmas be a successful end to the year for you and may the new year bring new hopes and bright beginnings,” said the jailed Ambazonian leader.
He was arrested alongside nine others in Nigeria on January 2018. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by a military court, one year after his arrest.
