OBAMA rallies for Warnock ahead final day of early voting in Georgia

Ahead of the final day of early voting in Georgia, and only days ahead of Tuesday’s Senate runoff election day, both candidates got notable help in campaign rallies Thursday.

Former President Barack Obama was in Atlanta to stump for incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock. “I’m here to tell you, we can’t let up. I’m here to tell you we can’t tune out. We can’t get complacent. We have to run through the tape. And I know you can do it because you did it before,” Obama told a crowd of several thousand people. He called Warnock not a showhorse in Washington, but a workhorse getting things done for Georgians.

Obama also took a swipe at Warnock’s challenger, Herschel Walker. “When you spend more time talking about horror movie fantasies, then you do thinking about the people you want to represent that says something about your priorities.”

The former president was in Georgia five weeks ago to energize Democrats ahead of the Nov. 8 general election. From Warnock to the crowd, “you deserve a Senator, who will tell you the truth. You deserve a Senator, who actually lives in Georgia.”

Walker had a busy Thursday, with rallies in Columbus by day and Woodstock at night. At the rally in the northern metro Atlanta suburb, South Carolina Sen. Lindsay Graham was in town to give Walker a boost. “My heart and soul is in this part of the world. And, don’t let us down folks. Don’t let Herschel down, don’t let him down,” Graham told the crowd.
